Clean Air Campaign

What causes air pollution?

Air pollution has many different causes and affects us in many different ways. Pause a moment to think of all the different types of air pollution you come across in a single day and you might be surprised. Poor indoor air quality, car exhaust, cigarette smoke, chemical off-gassing, landfill emissions, fumes from factories…each is an example of air pollution.

Why do we care?

The fact is, most of us probably take clean air for granted. Breathing is so natural to us that we rarely take into account the quality of air that enters our lungs. Of all of the essentials needed by the human body to function, oxygen is the one we must have on a moment-to-moment basis. We can’t live without it for more than a few minutes.

No day should be a bad air day.

Since our bodies need oxygen to live, the quality and quantity of oxygen largely affects our health. Oxygen is so vital to our health and well-being, it is essential that we try to make sure that we are doing everything we can to make the air we breathe as clean as possible.

Air Matters

Having clean air to breathe requires that we all work together to make a difference. Throughout the campaign, you will learn the simple changes you can make in your community, your workplace, and your home to help improve our air quality. You will also learn about the air quality at 720 King West, and how the building works to keep it clean and plentiful.
